Estos efectos,<br>asociados a la disminuci\u00f3n en los niveles de estr\u00f3genos, adquieren hoy una nueva relevancia<br>considerando que la esperanza de vida femenina supera los 80 a\u00f1os en Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Uno de los cambios fisiol\u00f3gicos m\u00e1s significativos es la aceleraci\u00f3n en la p\u00e9rdida de densidad \u00f3sea.<br>Estudios indican que, con la ausencia de estr\u00f3genos, una mujer puede perder hasta un 20% de su<br>masa \u00f3sea en los primeros cinco a\u00f1os postmenop\u00e1usicos. A esto se suma la p\u00e9rdida progresiva de<br>masa muscular, conocida como sarcopenia, que comienza a los 40 a\u00f1os.<br>Seg\u00fan Rodrigo Macaya, ginec\u00f3logo de Cl\u00ednica Meds y asesor de la cadena de gimnasios Sportlife,<br>existe una relaci\u00f3n directa entre masa muscular y salud \u00f3sea. \u201cLos m\u00fasculos ejercen tracci\u00f3n<br>sobre los huesos, ayudando a mantener su estructura. En personas sedentarias o inmovilizadas, la<br>p\u00e9rdida de masa muscular conduce r\u00e1pidamente a la aparici\u00f3n de osteoporosis\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Frente a este escenario, enfatiza que el ejercicio de fuerza no es solo recomendable, sino esencial<br>para mujeres que est\u00e1n viviendo este proceso. Para ello, recomienda realizar entrenamiento con<br>pesas al menos tres o cuatro veces por semana y agrega que esta rutina debe integrarse como un<br>h\u00e1bito de autocuidado cotidiano, equiparable a la alimentaci\u00f3n saludable o la higiene personal.<br>\u201cNo importa el cansancio o la falta de ganas, el ejercicio debe formar parte de la rutina diaria.<br>Excusas como \u2018no tengo tiempo\u2019 o \u2018no es lo m\u00edo\u2019 deben ser reemplazadas por una comprensi\u00f3n<br>clara de sus beneficios y la responsabilidad con la propia salud\u201d, sostiene Macaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Adicionalmente, recomienda tener una dieta equilibrada, rica en calcio y vitamina D. Adem\u00e1s,<br>aconseja evitar el consumo de tabaco y considerar la terapia hormonal sustitutiva bajo evaluaci\u00f3n<br>m\u00e9dica, ya que puede reducir algunos de los s\u00edntomas propios de la menopausia y prevenir<br>enfermedades como la diabetes tipo 2, Alzheimer, c\u00e1ncer de colon y da\u00f1os cardiovasculares.<br>\u201cPromover una cultura de prevenci\u00f3n activa y consciente es clave para mejorar la calidad de vida<br>de las mujeres que atraviesan la menopausia.
